Queries about taking part in the 80k Challenge? We’ve answered the frequently asked questions below, but if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Maggie by phone or email.
Why 80k?
Who can take part?
Anyone can take part! The challenge is open to anyone up for walking 80 kilometres in one month. Feel free to take part solo, or with friends and family.
How do I fundraise?
Once you sign up for your fundraising pack, we will send you a link to set up your JustGiving page. You will set a fundraising goal, and you can then share this link with friends and family. You can use your social media to get the word out about your fundraiser.
How do I track my distance?
This one is up to you! Many people like to use the free app Strava to track steps/cycle distance, but most mobile devices can track distance travelled as well (or FitBits, Apple Watches, etc!). You’ll also get a handy distance tracker in your free fundraising pack!
Where do the funds go?
The money you raised will directly support men and women struggling with addiction and homelessness in Ireland. You can learn more about governance here.
Can I collect funds outside of JustGiving?
If you have any offline funds collected (cash, cheque) towards your challenge, you can still send that on to Merchants Quay, learn more here.
Can I take part with my colleagues?
Absolutely, it’s a great team bonding exercise! If you would like to know more about getting your workplace involved in this challenge, you can get in touch with Emma.
How do I get support?
