Riverbank Tour

You are invited, along with a guest (or two!), for a behind-the-scenes tour of Riverbank homeless centre while it’s not in use by clients. Please join us and see first-hand how your kind donations work to bring hope and relief to Ireland’s hungry and homeless.

Your compassion for the hungry and homeless is balanced by the need to honour their dignity and privacy. In this spirit, you are invited to join a Private Donor Tour at Riverbank when the homeless centre is not being used by our clients. On the second Thursday of the month, after our early-morning rough-sleepers have come and gone from breakfast, our staff and volunteers have a training meeting. This is an ideal time for us to show you around Riverbank. Because without you, we couldn’t open at all.

In the quietness, you will see our kitchen where over 110,000 meals are served each year, the stalls where rough-sleepers get warm and clean under a hot shower and the dental surgery where the pain of rotten teeth and the tell-tale stigma of a neglected mouth are fixed.

You will see where our nurse tenderly dresses wounds on legs and feet that walk miles each day.

You will hear the success stories too. Many of our guests are most surprised at how lives can be changed because homelessness and addiction don’t have to be a dead-end.

Just let us know which day suits, and how many people you’d like to bring by calling Emma at 01 524 0965 or email emma.murphy@mqi.ie. We’d love to see you.
