Carmen Iordache is the Project Coordinator for the Medically Supervised Injecting Facility (MSIF). Her background is in Social Work, with over 15 years of experience in homeless, resettlement, addiction and mental health services. Prior to her role in MQI, she worked with the National Forensic Mental Health Service and facilitated patient resettlement with the collaboration of the clinical medical team from the Central Mental Hospital.
Carmen’s main responsibility is to ensure that MSIF is a safe space for clients and staff, as well as for the public and the local community.
She oversees the operational running of the MSIF project, working flexibly and creatively with a multidisciplinary team (doctors, nurses, project workers, outreach) and a variety of stakeholders, including HSE, Local Authority, An Garda Síochána and social and healthcare service providers.
