How does our Drug Rehabilitative CE Scheme work?

Our CLG Drug Rehabilitative CE Scheme offers opportunities for individuals in recovery from substance use to re-engage into active community and working life.

This is achieved by a range of training, education, work experience, and activities delivered alongside therapeutic support for drug and alcohol use.

This scheme is open to anyone over the age of 18 in receipt of a DSP payment, who currently or previously was in need of support in relation to their drug or alcohol use (eligibility must be confirmed by the Department of Social Protection as the applicant must have at least 1 week of DSP payment).

Drug Rehabilitative CE Scheme Requirements:

  •       Be a service user in a rehabilitation who is on methadone or in recovery from substance use or attending either a relevant HSE addiction service or another relevant substance use support (such as CAMDAS);
  •       Be willing to address addiction and ready to undertake further development in terms of personal, social and educational well-being;
  •       Attend Monday – Friday for 19.5 hours;
  •       Meet the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) Drug Rehabilitation CE Scheme Requirements.

What is the Parenting Under Pressure (PuP) Programme?

PuP is a parenting programme specifically developed for but note limited to families who are facing adversities which can include parental substance use, mental health, homelessness, family conflict and sever financial stress.

The overarching aim of PuP is to help parents develop positive and secure relationships with their children. Which this strengths-based approach, the family environment becomes more nurturing and less conflictual.

As the quality of the caregiving relationship improves, parents are able to focus on developing family routines and processes that are age appropriate for their infants and children.

Parents and children learn to regulate emotions and children are given the opportunity to learn additional self-regulation skills.
