Help a woman like Lisa today.
Abused as a child. Her first accidental overdose at 11. Falling into addiction by 14. Pregnant by her abuser at 15. Her childhood was stolen, but today you can give her back her life…
“I used to have really horrific nightmares about my childhood. I used to hurt myself in my sleep. I would really hurt myself to wake myself up out of the nightmares. I couldn’t speak about my abuse. I couldn’t even say his name until I felt safe…”
Lisa has suffered a lifetime of pain, shame, and isolation.
Lisa – and so many other women like her – need somewhere like Jane’s Place. Somewhere she feels safe. Somewhere to speak with a trained professional. Somewhere, she can manage her trauma and addiction. Then she can heal and take back the life that was stolen from her.
Will you help to keep Jane’s Place open for another year?

Please, make a secure donation by August 1st to keep the doors of Jane’s Place open for another year.
How your gift helps women
Safety
At Jane’s Place women like Lisa can find peace and respite from a life of fear. It’s a moment to feel calm, to breathe, and to rest.
Dignity
Inside, there’s always the warmth of a hot shower waiting, and fresh clothes on hand.
Health
Meeting with a female doctor specialising in women’s health will help to restore her body to health.
Healing
Women can speak with a support worker, meet with our trained counsellor, or take part in massage, yoga, and meditation. The first step to healing from trauma is here.
Solidarity
Many women who come to Jane’s Place talk about the importance of meeting other women who have experienced pain like theirs. Here, they know they are not alone and can find comfort & power in the kinship of others.
What is Jane's Place?
All of our services welcome women; however, in 2019, we saw that the numbers of women coming through our door were not representative of the numbers we felt needed the services. After some research, it was clear that females often did not feel comfortable coming into spaces which were predominantly used by men.
Jane’s Place started as a trial in 2022. It opened its permanent doors in 2024 in Dublin City. This unique drop-in centre for women meets women where they are at, whether they are living in homelessness, addiction or with mental health difficulties.
Jane’s Place offers a safe and welcoming space where women can use basic facilities like showers, cooking facilities, computers, or receive specialised healthcare, counselling and other supports.
