You gave Cathy the belief that she could overcome addiction and stigma to reclaim her life.

At Merchant’s Quay Ireland, we see the impact of your generosity every single day. It’s in the warm meals you provide, the safe shelter you make possible, and the second chances you believe in.

In this edition of our Summer Quay Times, you’ll meet Cathy, who began her journey to recovery at St. Francis Farm, after making the decision to change her life after years in homelessness, addiction and domestic abuse. Having now completed recovery, Cathy is now studying social care – wanting to work with children and be the comfort that she never had growing up.

I hadn’t felt like myself in such a long time. Now, I’ve found my voice. I’ve found myself again.”
– Cathy

It’s because of you that men and women in recovery are reminded that they deserve to feel hope, and to fulfil their potential.

In this issue:

💜 Cathy’s inspiring story: From trauma and abuse to hope and a brighter future.

📝 Stigma research: We looked at how attitudes towards people in addiction have changed in Ireland over the past 25 years.

✉ From the Postbag: Our CEO Eddie Mullins answers your letters.

For the difference you make, for the lives you’ve helped transform… Thank you.
