In your Summer Quay Times newsletter, you will meet Sandra. After a childhood surrounded by fear and years spent surviving homelessness and addiction, she came to MQI. When she first arrived, she was overwhelmed, fearful, and emotionally shut down.

Sandra slowly began to rebuild her self-confidence. Through structured routines and group work, she found the safety she needed to understand her trauma, learn boundaries, and heal.

Sandra had spent her life feeling unstable, but at MQI, she found that fitness, routine, and community were forms of therapy – a way to anchor her thoughts and plan for the future she wanted to build for herself and her children.

Now, Sandra is living in the brighter days that she used to hope for. She has recently moved into her permanent “forever home” and is studying health and fitness. She tells us, “High Park was the best 14 weeks of my life. I am so proud of where I am today, I’ve done a whole 180. It’s like being born again.”

Sandra was given a second chance, a fresh start. It wouldn’t have been possible without the love shown by people like you. Thank you.💜
