Recovery can only happen when someone is safe.

At MQI, we provide vital recovery services to men and women who are in addiction.

For someone experiencing homelessness, recovery starts with basic human safety at Riverbank. It begins with a hot meal, a warm shower, and someone who listens without judgment. That single moment of compassion gives a person the strength to step into High Park and St. Francis Farm, our residential recovery programmes.

At Merchants Quay Ireland, we believe that nobody should face recovery alone, and we help people at every stage of their journey – from residential rehabilitation and healthcare to addiction counselling and aftercare services.

Your support opens the door to a safe bed, medical care, and daily counselling. Your kindness guides a person step by step to long-term recovery at High Park.

💌 Please make your gift today so we can safeguard a full year of recovery support.

Jack's Road to Recovery

Jack’s childhood was traumatic. His parents did their best to keep poverty and violence from their door, but they also fell victim to addiction.

Jack began using drugs when he was 11 years old. He was just a child. He wanted to escape his pain.

At 17, Jack was homeless. Sleeping on the streets of Dublin, he never felt safe.

“I couldn’t sleep for more than 20 minutes without waking up afraid. My shoes were stolen off my feet while I slept.”

– Jack, MQI Client.

Eventually, Jack found Riverbank. There, he found a hot meal, a change of clothes and support. For the first time, he felt that recovery from addiction was possible.

He is now halfway through his 14 weeks in recovery at High Park. Jack has been able to process his trauma, and look towards a brighter future. “I speak about my feelings. I didn’t do a lot of that growing up. I really enjoy the group therapy – we all look out for each other.”

High Park addiction counsellor Helen says, “I can see that Jack has confidence himself, he’s excited for his future. It gives me joy in my heart.”
