Dublin Airport Authority supports Merchants Quay Ireland

The DAA have announced that a total of €300,000 has been raised for their three charity partners; Merchants Quay Ireland, MS Ireland, and My Canine Companion. Each charity was presented with a cheque of €100,000 on 26th January 2018.

The DAA’s Charity of the Year scheme began in 2007, being fully managed by the staff who also select the charity partners. Since the scheme began, the DAA has raised over €2.3 million for 21 Irish charities including Merchants Quay Ireland.

CEO of Merchants Quay Ireland Tony Geoghegan noted that the €100,000 would have a huge impact on the lives of clients, and stated;

“At Merchants Quay Ireland, we never forget that it is by the grace of generous Irish people that we can keep the lights on and the kettle warm for Ireland’s homeless and hungry – so we are staggered to have such support today. I am conscious of all the toil it took, from staff all across DAA, to raise such a transformational sum. Thank you for every bit of hard work and for every moment spared for those less fortunate.  On behalf of those who rely on kindness like yours, from all at MQI and from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

None of this would be possible without Martin and Stephen who nominated and campaigned so hard for Merchants Quay Ireland to be chosen as a charity partner to the DAA in 2017.
