Merchants Quay Ireland Launches Petition for Gender-Specific Services

MQI Launches Petition Calling on Government to Ensure Women with Complex Needs Have Access to Gender-Specific Services

Merchants Quay Ireland, the national homeless and addiction charity, has launched a petition calling on government to ensure women with complex needs have access to gender-specific services.

Women struggling with homelessness and addiction in Ireland are ashamed and scared to access services. Many have been physically and sexually abused, struggle with their mental health, and have experienced immense trauma. Evidence shows that women have the best chance of healing in a safe, female-only environment. That’s why Merchants Quay Ireland want to open a new woman’s wellness centre.

We need government support to safeguard our female-only service, so we can reach more vulnerable women sooner. We are asking the public to sign this petition now and lend their voice to help us deliver a safe space for women.
